Claire is a theatre artist, producer, and educator who graduated from the conservatory-style program at Studio 58 in Vancouver. She was the recipient of the 2017 Hamilton Arts Award for Innovation and the 2017 KM Hunter Award in Theatre. She was the recipient of a 2014 Harold Award and the 2008 Crow’s Theatre Emerging Director’s Award. Nominated for a Dora Award for her performance in Iceland (2016) and as a member of the Outstanding Ensembles for A Fool’s Life (2011) and Appetite (2009), she received a 2010 Chalmers Professional Development Grant to support her traditional theatre studies in Japan and was voted the Top Theatre Artist of 2009 by NOW Magazine.

Claire is the founder of The AMY Project (Artists Mentoring Youth), an arts education program for young women in Toronto. She was co-Artistic Director of the program for 10 years and then served as the Chair of the Board for 2 years. She is in demand as an instructor and has worked for a wide variety of youth arts programs, with companies including Project Humanity, Canadian Stage, Theatre Revolve, Soulpepper, and The Paprika Festival. Claire was a sessional instructor at George Brown Theatre School from 2012 until 2014 and the Associate Director of the Festival of Ideas and Creation at Canadian Stage from 2009 to 2012. She has been the Executive Director of the Hamilton Festival Theatre Company (Hamilton Fringe, Frost Bites) since 2013.
